Cavaliers Embrace Warr as New Principal
The CHS Cavalier staff kicked off the new school year with a surprise reception for Principal Kim Warr, who was named Principal in June. Warr has served as Assistant Principal since the school opening in August 2009 and was named Principal when founding Principal Rob Jackson accepted the position of UCPS Community Relations and Communications Liaison. Warr was named UCPS Assistant Principal of the Year for 2011-2012.
Assistant Principal Sarah Stott said, “When Ms. Warr was named Principal of Cuthbertson High School, I was so excited! She is an amazing leader and is incredibly deserving of her new role. Ms. Warr is someone I have admired and I am honored to be able to have the opportunity to work under such a dynamic leader.”
Warr entered the Media Center accompanied by Ms. Stott who had arranged the surprise gathering in advance. She was greeted by the entire cheering staff, cake, flowers, and a CHS Principal necklace. In referring to the reception, Warr said, “I can honestly say I've been surprised twice in my life - once on my 16th birthday and yesterday. I am so blessed to work with the finest staff in the district and appreciate your overwhelming support as I serve you in this new role.”
“We wanted to be sure Ms. Warr understood how proud of her we are and how excited we are about this coming year,” said Media Specialist Paula White. “We felt she deserved this special recognition and support from us as we begin this exciting new year together.”
Ms. Warr said, “You all are the best and make coming to school NOT seem like a job! It's going to be an amazing year!” The CHS staff could not agree more!
