UCPS Communications Office wins 10 state awards

The UCPS Communications Office took 10 Blue Ribbon awards recently recognizing outstanding school public relations publications across the state. The Union County Public Schools Communications Office took 10 Blue Ribbon awards recently recognizing outstanding school public relations publications across the state.
           
The awards were given at the North Carolina School Public Relations Association’s (NCSPRA) annual Blue Ribbon Awards Ceremony for Effective Communications, held this year at the Hilton Garden Inn in Durham on January 22, 2010. 
           
The UCPS Communications Office was recognized for Excellence in Photography for a photo called the “First Day of School,” and “101 Dalmatians Cast and Crew;” for Excellence in Writing for the feature article, “State, local budget cuts may cost hundreds of UCPS jobs,” and for the “Academic Excellence Awards Keynote Speech;” for four UCPS handbooks, the “UCPS Kindergarten Handbook,” the “Middle School Handbook,” the “Goals and Objectives” booklet, and the “Communications Standards Manual;” the UCPS web site; and for its employee newsletter “Inside News.”

The award-winning entries were produced by UCPS Chief Communications Officer Luan Ingram, UCPS Communications Coordinator Deb Coates Bledsoe, UCPS Visual Communications Coordinator Arthur Rogers and UCPS Web Communications Coordinator Don Mace.
           
Entries were judged by the Georgia School Public Relations Association (GSPRA).
