Porter Ridge Middle Open House

The Smith family - Brothers Pavlo (left), Sebastian (middle) and Nick (right) are ready to begin sixth grade.

Porter Ridge staff and administration greeted new and returning students Wednesday, August 22nd and Friday, August 24th at our annual Open House. During open house, parents and students were able to find out about buses, sign up for PTO, buy Pirate gear, and meet the faculty and administration.

One of the highlights of the evening was a video message from Mr. Harris welcoming parents and students to a new year at PRMS. After the principal’s video, families followed a mock schedule where they were able to meet the teachers for all of their student’s classes and gather information such as supply lists, expectations, and some course objectives. Everyone was very excited for the school year to begin. When asked what he thought would be the best part of middle school Pavlo Smith (pictured far left), a rising 6th grader, emphatically said, “Band.”

A final note from Mr. Harris:
Here at Porter Ridge Middle School we are always happy to open our doors to the community and share the interesting and innovative educational practices used to inspire academic growth and lifelong learning. We believe in a family approach to education where ALL STUDENTS MATTER AND FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!
