Welcome to Poplin Elementary - Assistant Principal Jim Eversole!

Poplin Elementary welcomes Assistant Principal Jim Eversole to the Poplin community. Assistant Principal Mr. Eversole became a member of the Poplin staff at the end of June 2012. Mr. Eversole began his education career teaching middle school students in Charlotte Mecklenburg where he taught for eight years. Then six years ago, Mr. Eversole moved to Union County. He transitioned from the classroom to being an assistant principal at East Union Middle School in 2006.

Mr. Eversole is from a small town in Ohio, Columbus Grove. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from Miami University in Ohio and his Graduate degree in School Administration from Gardner Webb University. Mr. Eversole resides with his wife and two children in Indian Trial, N.C.

Mr. Eversole is very excited to be a part of Poplin Elementary. “I am very pleased to be allowed the opportunity to come to Poplin and use my talents to further the growth of these children both academically and socially. I want to push Poplin to greater expectations,” said Mr. Eversole. Becoming a vital role in the implementation of the new Common Core curriculum and fostering relationships with staff and students to help further everyone’s successes are goals Mr. Eversole has for this school year.

Mr. Eversole loves the beginning of school and this time of year. “I love football season. I have been a Panthers fan ever since moving to North Carolina,” said Mr. Eversole. Riding his Harley motorcycle and enjoying his dog named “Buckethead” are two things Mr. Eversole also likes to do when he is away from Poplin.
