New Friends

Ms. Robbins and Ms. Abernethy’s class worked together to create a “friendship rainbow,” from their painted handprints. Ms. Robbin’s class poses proudly in front of their artwork.

Great excitement filled the air on Tuesday, September 4th, as all 92 kindergarten students celebrated their first day gathering together to meet all their classmates.
The four Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Abee, Ms. Abernethy, Ms. Robbins and Mrs. Scott worked hard and anxiously planned all summer for this special day. And on Tuesday, teachers welcomed students, gave out hugs and even a few tissues as parents trustingly handed over their child to a loving teacher. Across the Kindergarten wing, in every classroom, you could hear songs being belted out, poems rhyming along and books being enthusiastically read about the special qualities each individual child possesses and how this new class of children will not be strangers any longer, instead, they will be called “friends”.
