5th grade Meteorologists
5th grade students at Marshville are using the weather station outside of our school to learn more about their environment. Visiting the weather station is an opportunity for these students to have hands on experience with terms they are learning in science.
Our station has various measurement tools: thermometer which measures temperature; barometer which measures air pressure; hygrometer which measures humidity and a rain gauge which measures precipitation. The students use the weather station to monitor our local weather and can then make comparisons to various global communities. Students are closely comparing our local weather with that of Manilla, Phillipines because that is where our visiting faculty member, Michelle Lascano, calls home.
