CTE Teacher Inducted Into National Business and Technology Hall of Fame

Mr. Troy Burns, CTE (Career and Technical Education) teacher at Marvin Ridge High School, has been inducted into the National Business and Technology Education Hall of Fame. Mr. Burns has been in education for 12 years and has also spent 7 years in private industry as a CPA. Currently, Mr. Burns is the Department Chairperson for MRHS, a CTE business teacher, a teacher in the IB program and an instructor for the NC Virtual Public School. In addition to this, Mr. Burns is a co-advisor for the MRHS chapter of FBLA. Over that time, FBLA has completed many charity and community service events, attended all five regional and state competitions and four of five national competitions. He works very hard in preparing students for competition and has had great success at FBLA competitions with almost 100 medal winners, 19 state champions and one national champion. Mr. Burns has participaed in education at the state level as well, helping with curriculum realignment.
