Pirates Serve for the Cure
On Saturday, September 22 Pirates Varsity Volleyball players attended Serve for the Cure at Charlotte Latin. The yearly tournament raises money and awareness for breast cancer. In preparation for the tournament the Pirates sold raffle tickets. The pirates contributed over $800 in funds. The top sellers for the team were McKenzie McDonald and Amanda Wagoner.
Fifteen teams participated in the round robin tournament. The rounds were limited to 30 minutes or 60 points. The Pirates played South Meck, Covenant Day, Kings Mountain and Mallard Creek. Although the day was not about wins and losses, the girls came out of the day 3-1.
