Third Graders Join in International Peace Parade
On Friday September 21, third grade students joined the rest of the school in a parade for peace.
During the week of September 17, third grade students studied different countries in our world. Ms. Darleen Morris’s class studied the states in Australia, while Ms. Lokash’s class learned about Irish traditions. Ms. Chester's class studied Chile and Ms. Furr’s class learned about Hong Kong.
During the parade, third grade students helped make our campus a better place by picking up trash during the parade. Students also danced to music and chanted different sayings from their countries. Each student carried a banner with a personal statement of hope for peace, not just for our world, but for our school and classrooms. One student hoped for a more peaceful classroom by eliminating bullying on the playground. Another wrote about helping siblings with school work instead of fighting.
With our third grade students starting with peace in their own worlds, it looks to be a bright future for peace in our world!
