Library receives new books from award

New books have arrived at Benton Heights Elementary School of the Arts Library! The school received the” Books for Schools Award” from Target, in partnership with First Book.

The Target store located in Wesley Chapel, NC presented the award to Principal Blaire Traywick and Media Coordinator Beth Lanzy in September. The $500 award was used to purchase new books for the library from First Book Marketplace.

This award is part of Target’s plan to give $1 billion to education by the end of 2015.

First Book is a nonprofit organization that has distributed over 90 million books and educational resources to schools and programs in the United States and Canada.

The “Books for Schools Award” added approximately 70 hard back cover books to Benton Heights Library’s collection. Benton Heights is appreciative of this award as it helped add quality books for students to read. Students are excited to check out the new books.
