A Glimpse of Life In Israel

Ms. Roni Amitai from the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte spoke about her home life in Israel to Social Studies and AFJROTC classes on October 11th.

Ms. Roni Amitai, the newly appointed Israeli emissary (shlicha) for the Jewish Agency and Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte, NC spoke to five Social Studies and JROTC classes on October 11th about her life in Israel. She is living in Charlotte for a year and looks forward to strengthening the connection between the Charlotte Jewish community and the State of Israel.

An Israeli citizen, Ms. Amitai spoke about her parents, her education at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, her service in the Israeli Army, and her current responsibility, which is to educate students in this area about her native culture, Israel's role in the world, and issues in the Middle East. She spoke for nearly an hour to second and third period students and answered many questions from the audiences. Junior Kaelie Carter commented after the presentation,"It was interesting to learn about a different country/culture and to compare it to ours."
