Sandy Ridge "Rocking Robots" Makes A Great Run
I am so proud to report to you that Kaveesh Bhatnagar and Jackson Colling participated in FLL (first Lego League) competition at Charlotte level last Saturday and they had a great showing. Their team 'Rocking Robots' had a great run.
They were one of the top 12 teams, which will advance to Regional Competition. They also won the 'Most Innovative Solution' Award for their solution of using 'Nano-Robots' to cure Macular Degeneration condition for senior citizens. This was one of the nine awards given. This team was also recommended by some judges for doing the best in the 'FLL Core values Interview' and were one of the top three teams. There were about 40 teams that competed representing schools from Mecklenburg, Concord, Gastonia and almost all of the private schools in Charlotte area.
The most commendable thing about this team is that they were a Rookie team and also the youngest team in the competition. Most of the team had 7th and 8th graders who have competed earlier.
