1 x 120=FUN!
Union County Elementary Math Coordinator Ryan Dougherty stepped out of the office and back into the classroom recently, to share some exciting multiplication strategies with 3rd grade students at Marvin Elementary.
To help launch the multiplication and division unit of study, Dougherty worked through each of the six classrooms in the 3rd grade hall. After taking some time to view “multiplication sundaes,” it was time for the math guru to get to work.
By incorporating centers into his lesson, students stay engaged with a variety of activities. From computer games to rolling dice, all 120 children found a new way to have fun using math.
By the end of the day, students were asking, “When will you be back?” As they say in the movies, this story is to be continued…
