Who is the latest National Board Certified Teacher at Stallings Elementary?

Who is the latest National Board Certified Teacher at Stallings Elementary?

It is our very own exceptional children’s teacher, Carolyn Lepore. Mrs. Lepore joins the distinguished ranks of the National Board Certified Teachers. National Board Certification is an advanced teaching credential. It is a certification in addition to her state certification or teaching license. This certification is valid for ten years and then must be renewed during the teacher’s eighth or ninth year of teaching. National Board Certification is achieved after the candidate completes an assessment program designed to certify highly effective and accomplished teachers who meet high standards. As part of the certification process, candidates complete 10 assessments that are reviewed by trained teachers in their certificate areas that are a combination of portfolio entries that feature actual teaching practice and six assessment center exercises that assess their content knowledge. These assessments are then graded using a rubric by fellow National Board Certified Teams across the nation.

We are so proud of Mrs. Lepore for voluntarily undergoing the rigorous national board process and are so fortunate to have her on staff here at Stallings. Congratulations again, Mrs. Lepore!
