Striving Towards Employment and Maintaining (S.T.E.A.M.) Program Receives Grant
The Union County Community Foundation recently presented the S.T.E.A.M. (Striving Towards Employment And Maintaining) Program, with a grant of $5,000. The S.T.E.A.M program was developed by Union County Schools Exceptional Children’s Programs and Monroe Vocational Rehabilitation Office. The S.T.E.A.M. Program supports students in developing skill sets for seeking and maintaining employment.
The Union County Community Foundation is a permanent endowment established in 1989 by local leaders to benefit a broad range of charitable purposes. It is a part of a family of funds that make up Foundation For the Carolinas. Since 1994, $588,353 has been distributed by the Union County Community Foundation. This award is a part of $67,430 distributed in 2012.
