Student Council Bridges the Gap

Porter Ridge Student Council took the voyage across the street to Porter Ridge Elementary School on Wednesday, December 5th for National Reading Day! The students wore their pajamas, brought blankets, stuffed animals and their favorite books. Each classroom bundled up and read books from eight until eleven in the morning.

As the students read their books, a student council member tallied up the number of books read. Each class received a certificate with the number of books they read, and it was specially delivered with our mascot Pirate Pete!

The student council here at Porter Ridge High School is so proud of all the hard work the elementary school has demonstrated, and is planning future activities to bring the two schools closer together.
