East Union Students Raise Money To Help Community

On December 18, EUMS Advanced Art students held a pottery sale to raise funds for East Union families in need of extra support over the holiday season. The students began working on pieces for this sale in early September, and the final pieces were completed the first week of December. Ceramic works such as bowls, cups, home décor items and ornaments were created specifically for the fundraiser. The students were very proud to take part in such a meaningful event.

Taylar Jones, who helped create work and assist with the sale, said “This is cool. We know where the money is going, and we know it’s helping our classmates and their families.”

Mrs. Walters, the art teacher was pleased with the event as well. “The students raised close to three hundred dollars, almost twice what we expected. Their hearts went into this whole process, it was amazing to watch. This will definitely be an annual event.”

The students and Mrs. Walters want to thank the staff and families that supported the sale, and helped make a merrier Christmas for some very deserving families.
