Film Club Hosts Polar Express Experience

Thomas Ross, Bryson Kohlbrenner, and Reagan Wren sit on Santa's lap as part the CHS Film Club's Polar Express Experience.

The CHS Film Club held the first ever 'Polar Express Experience' on December 15, 2012. The 'Polar Express Experience' was based on the book The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg in which a boy gets a train trip to the North Pole, meets Santa, and receives a gift of a bell that rings only for those who believe.

The aim of the event was to benefit the homeless children in the Charlotte area. Every participant was given a gold ticket they could use to get on the train. Children and their parents got a ride around the school and were dropped off to be photographed with Santa. There were free concessions such as hot chocolate and candy and lots of fun games that the children participated in.

To top off the day, the whole crowd headed to the auditorium where there was a showing of the movie, “The Polar Express.” The Film Club is looking forward to making the 'Polar Express Experience' an annual event. We look forward to seeing you here next year!
