Fifth Graders Thank Our Determined Troops

As part of the school-wide character emphasis at Rea View, students and staff have focused on the concept of determination throughout the month of January. Fifth grade students considered how our American soldiers show determination as they battle harsh conditions and are away from their families for extended periods of time. These students wrote letters of thanks to our troops, and created an inspiring display for the entire school community. Fifth grade students Ally, Will, and Isabelle are pictured with the display and expressed wonderful words of praise and appreciation for the soldiers. Ally thanked the troops for risking their lives and shared how their efforts have influenced her desire to be a police officer. Will expressed his gratitude for the soldiers' protection of our country and his future plans to be in the Marines or the Air Force. In Isabelle's letter, she thanked the soldiers for their efforts to provide freedom, save lives, and serve as role models. Students letters will be delivered to troops in active duty in the weeks ahead. It is their goal to motivate and encourage those who are showing determination and bravery as American soldiers.
