Upcoming Registration Plans Announced

Counselor Kym Whitecar explains the course offerings to freshman Mary Bready as part of the upcoming registration process.

CHS is excited to announce that Registration for the 2013-2014 school year begins during the week of February 5, 2013, for rising 10th through 12th graders. Students will be meeting with their guidance counselors and then using our online registration system to register for their classes. Students will meet with their guidance counselors on Wednesday, February 6. At this time, counselors will review graduation requirements and give students directions for accessing the online registration system. The presentations and information shared with our students during these class meetings will also be shared on our school’s website.

Online registration will be open from Thursday, February 7, through Sunday, February 17. During this time, students may go online and register for the courses they would like to take next year. The online registration process is a time for students to make their class preferences known, so students will be selecting eight classes and four alternates.

Parent presentations will be offered to go over graduation requirements, course selections, and the online registration system. Principal Kim Warr will be meeting with parents regarding registration on the following dates and times in the Auditorium:
Parents of Rising Seniors - Tuesday, February 5, at 6:30 pm
Parents of Rising Juniors - Tuesday, February 12, at 6:30 pm
Parents of Rising Sophomores - Tuesday, February 12, at 7:30 pm

Sunday, February 17, will be the last day students can input their preferred courses in the online registration system. Beginning February 18, students will meet individually with guidance counselors to go over the students’ transcripts and review the online course selections.

Rising 9th graders will be registering for classes in March. Information about the registration process will be shared with rising 9th graders and their parents in the upcoming weeks.

Principal Kim Warr said, “Registration is an important time of the year, and we are excited about guiding our students and parents through the registration process. I think parents and students will find the information sessions helpful in selecting courses for the upcoming year. If we can be of any help to you throughout the process, please let us know.”
