Second Graders Perform "Squirm"
On Tuesday, January 29, Rea View second graders performed "Squirm- A Wiggy, Giggly, Squiggly Musical" by John Jacobson and John Higgins. Rea View's music teacher, Tiffany Adcox, coordinated the performance which involved wonderful lyrics and choreography. Students began working to prepare for the performance in December, and in the end perfected the lyrics and choreography for five songs. Mrs. Adcox reported that her favorite was the title song, "Squirm". The student favorite was "A Spider Song" due to the changes in the music, the rap it included, and the overall mood of the song. This was the first in what will be a series of grade level performances this semester at Rea View, and it made for a wonderfully entertaining evening for everyone in attendance. Second grade students performed - Squirm- featured five songs- students started working on it in December. Students have the chance to view the tape of the performance and evaluate themselves. The key components included singing and the movements or choreography. Songs were Squirm, Cool to be a worm, A Spider Song, A Snake in the Grass, and Give a Bat a Call. Squirm was Mrs. Adcox's favorite. Students like the spider song with the changes in the music, the rap, and the mood of the song.
