Rock Rest Summer Reading Visit to Local Neighborhoods

Rock Rest teachers, staff, and students end the summer with a celebration of reading

On August 8th, teachers and staff loaded up a bus up with crafts, games, music and, of course, books to visit two neighborhoods that are home to many of our Rock Rest students.

Teachers and students reunited to discuss the great books they'd read so far this summer, and the last few they hoped to finish before the final count for our school-wide Boys-vs-Girls Reading Challenge.

Music played while students played hula-hoops and basketball, made one-of-a-kind bookmarks, and got to pick out books to take home and keep in their very own personal library! There was even time for teachers and parents to read with our fabulous, book-loving students.

Students and teachers left the day feeling lots of excitement for the coming school year and all the books we'll be able to share together.
