Kirsten Durbin receives NC Art Educator of the Year

Congratulations, Mrs. Durbin!

Mrs. Durbin has recently received the prestigious NC Art Educator of the Year award.
Fellow art colleagues nominated Mrs. Durbin last fall. In order to receive the award, she had to submit a portfolio and gather recommendations from many people including co-workers, principals, and workers from the board.

Mrs. Durbin has been teaching art for over 16 years, and has been working at PRMS since its opening in 2005. She has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art.

She teaches sixth, seventh and eighth grade semester and yearlong art. Students learn about the different types of mediums, the elements and principles of art, how to incorporate modern day technology into art, and careers in art. Way to go Mrs. Durbin!
