First Grade Pulls Together To Learn All About Cooperation
This week during shared reading time, Prospect‘s first graders enjoyed reading about The Great Big Turnip, which talks about the importance of working together and cooperation.
Our first graders had a great time listening, reading, and acting out the story in an effort to teach the students and help them understand the importance of cooperation. We incorporated global awareness as the students had the opportunity to view in Italy and Great Britain doing the same type of activities. The culminating activity included each student illustrating themselves pulling together to unearth the great big turnip. Our first grade team also saw the value of pulling together and collaborating in order to make each of our students successful.
