Celebration of Small Moments in Writing!
First graders here at Marshville Elementary have enjoyed a study of small moment stories during writer's workshop. Students have learned the importance of choosing the small things in life and creating a story with a beginning, middle, and end. Everyone enjoyed writing about their families, pets, friends, and vacations. First grade students focused on using color words, feeling words, and strong verbs to make their writing exciting. Students across the grade level now feel like "true authors" and are very excited to share their stories with others. On Friday, October 4th, students gathered to share their published stories with classmates. We all had a wonderful writing celebration. We are excited to begin our next unit of study!!
