Patriotism Bowl – Weddington vs. Marvin Ridge – November 8, 2013

On November 8, 2013, our Weddington Warrior Football team travels to Marvin Ridge to play in the Second Annual Patriotism Bowl.

The game between Union County rivals will be part of the special tribute to the United States Military on Veteran’s Day weekend.

Both teams will be wearing special camo-uniforms to commemorate the event.

There will also be a special display of various military equipment, parachute team delivery of the game ball, and other patriotic festivities.

The mission of this event is to encourage patriotism as well as raise funds for veterans, active military and their families.

Tickets for the Patriotism Bowl will $8 each with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the following 3 charities that benefit the military:
-Carolinas Freedom Foundation
-Purple Heart Homes
-Operation Homefront

Last year’s inaugural Patriotism Bowl at Charlotte Catholic was a sellout generating over $40,000.

Organizers are expecting another sellout for this year’s game with over 5,000 spectators. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. with pre-game festivities beginning at 5:00pm.

There will be no tickets available on game day. The ticket allotment for Weddington Warrior fans will only be held through October 25th and then will be released to the general public.

Order your tickets in advance on-line at the Athletic Booster Club website. Don’t miss this game. It’s going to be a great event and a perfect opportunity to honor our nation’s military.
