Seniors Receive On-site Admissions Decisions

CHS senior Ukeba Henry (right) was one of five students admitted to Campbell University during an on-site visit by Campbell admissions counselor Mike Little (left).

This week five CHS seniors were admitted to Campbell University on our very own campus. The students met with a visiting Campbell admissions counselor who reviewed their applications, transcript, and test scores and gave them their non-binding admissions decision on the spot. In addition, all five students were awarded scholarships which totaled $264,000. Seniors will receive another opportunity to participate in on-site admissions with Pfeiffer University on November 1. Interested students may pick up a flyer in the Guidance office or see counselor Mrs. Devine for more details.

One of the admitted students was Ukeba Henry. “The counselor basically asked me about my school history and if I was willing to work hard.” Ukeba plans to major in either chemistry or biology. “I plan to go into pre-med so I need that pre-med track,” he said. Other admitted students include Jade Carlson, Conary Purvis, Kyler Vela, and Sarra Wildermuth.

This session was just one of many college visits that are occurring throughout this fall and arranged by the CHS Guidance department in order to give students one on one contact with university representatives. Students may view and sign up for the college visits on the Guidance web page or by clicking here. The CHS Guidance Department also maintains a list of current scholarship opportunities on the website as well as many helpful resources for college planning and testing success. Be sure and check it often for updates. Feel free to contact any member of our Guidance Department with questions!
