National School Lunch Week
Every year we celebrate National School Lunch week as a way to get more students involved in nutrition and to promote a healthy lifestyle. This year National School Lunch Week ran from October 15 – October 18 and was a big success.
To celebrate school lunch our cafeteria pulled out all the stops. The theme this year was “School Lunch Across America”.
The cafeteria staff created a beautiful bulletin board that showed where each member is from as well as some of the dishes served in the cafe. The bulletin board also displayed art work by PRMS students.
Wednesday was exciting as we celebrated with Free Cake Day. Students also began, voting on the art work on the bulletin board and around the cafeteria.
Friday wrapped up the week with chicken nuggets in the shape of stars.
Cafeteria manager, Kim Watts said, “It’s been a very busy week, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.”
After the votes were tallied, the winners of the art contest were: First Place, 6th grader, Alexx Buff, second place, 8th grader, Kaycie Miller, and third place, 6th grader Victoria Riabtseva. They received a ribbon, a treat bag from the cafeteria, and a prize from Mrs. Durbin.
We have had a great time this week and are looking forward to next year’s theme and activities.
