CHS Plans College Application Week

CHS senior Paige Koning looks over the CFNC.org website to prepare for College Application Week.

College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC.org) is sponsoring College Application Week the week of November 18-22. Seniors who have not applied to college are encouraged to use this week to do so. Computers and assistance will be provided at lunches during the week for students to complete their applications. To promote the event and college awareness, CHS teachers have decorated their classroom doors with artwork about their own alma maters along with facts about each school. The teacher with the most “likes” on Facebook by November 22 will be awarded a shirt from the college of their choice. Students may also win a free shirt from the college of their choice! There are two ways to do this.

The first way is to participate in Guidance’s a College Scavenger Hunt. Pick up a form in Guidance. Find the answers to the questions on the decorated doors of classrooms. Turn the form back into Guidance when complete. At 3:00 on Friday, November 22, we will draw from the forms that have the most correct answers to pick the winner of our contest. Remember to “like” your favorite door on CHS’s Facebook site.

The second way is apply to college during the week of November 18-22. Make a copy of each application confirmation and turn in to Guidance. At 3:00 on Friday we will draw for a winner. The more confirmations you turn in, the greater your chances of winning!
