Verne Campbell speaks to 8th grade science classes
On Friday November 8th, Verne Campbell, husband to Mrs. Courtney Campbell and regular substitute , shared about his full time job in the Gulf of Mexico. During his presentation to Mrs. Barbee and Mrs. Blalock's 8th grade Science classes he showcased some of the common core standards in real world situations. He shares about life on an anchor boat moving oil rigs, types of oil rigs, the oil spill and clean up process and about the great Pacific garbage patch. He touched on topics such as: renewable and nonrenewable energy resources, the importance of conservation (reduce, reuse, recycle), and the concerns related to pollution of our land and oceans.
