Ms. Ridley receives a visit from the Prize Patrol

Dr. Jones poses with Ms. Ridley and representatives from UCEF who presented her with a check for $500.00.

Congratulations to Angelique Ridley, our Behavior Focus class teacher, for being awarded a $500 grant from the Union County Education Foundation. The UCEF Prize Patrol was here on October 13 to surprise Ms. Ridley with the news that she had been selected as one of the grant winners. Specifically, the grant will help Ms. Ridley to provide students with opportunities to learn about the diversity of the land, customs, religions, languages, and lifestyles within the various regions of Africa. With the activities funded by the grant, students will also Skype with students from Africa to build an understanding of their culture. As a culminating activity, the class will go on a field trip to the North Carolina Zoo too learn about animals from Africa. Again, congratulations, Ms. Ridley!
