CTE Family and Consumer Science Classes At SVHS Have Been Busy!

The Family and Consumer Sciences program at SUN VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL has been very busy lately!

During the week of Halloween, Mrs. Washington's Foods II Class provided a   No Tricks, Just Treats buffet all day long in the teacher's lounge.  Some of the items beautifully presented were scary candy apples, chocolate confetti pretzels, nighttime rice krispy treats, spooky tombstone pudding, cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies. It was all very delicous and everyone loved it!

On Friday, November 8th, Mrs. Washington's FOODs class and Ms. Deans INTERIOR DESIGN class attended a Field Trip at IKEA of Charlotte. They took a behind the scenes tour of the several kitchen areas, received a personal tour from a home interior specialist, learned many ins of the industry and much more.

Earlier in the fall, Ms. Dean's Fashion Club sold scarves adorned with the Breast Cancer symbol to raise money for a Spartan family affected by cancer. They were able to give $250 dollars to the family because of this sale.

We are very proud of all the things taking place inside and outside of our classrooms by our CTE Family and Consumer Science students here at Sun Valley High!
