Monroe High School's Future Farmers of America Attends National Convention
The Monroe High School FFA attended the FFA’s 86th National Convention on October 29th- November 2nd with Ms. Amanda Price and four FFA members. including Heather Yeakley, Samantha Jones, Kendra Covington, and Kimberly Garza. There we had the chance to meet FFA members from across the United States, attend workshops, a career expo, and convention sessions.
The workshops we attended helped with improving our FFA chapter. We attended a workshop on embracing diversity and agriculture journalism. We also had the opportunity to attend a career expo. The exposition had colleges with representatives informing us about their schools and Agriculture companies teaching us about the importance of Agriculture in today’s world. On the last day of the trip we went to downtown Louisville, there we visited the Louisville Slugger, visited the Kentucky Science Center and finished the night with dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory!
The trip was an amazing experience, providing the chance to meet great people across the United States who shared the same passion for FFA. In addition, we learned several ways to incorporate and improve our FFA Chapter.
