What's Happening in Art

Iliana Ballew is happy to have her art work displayed at the NCSECU in Waxhaw.

Art has gotten off to a busy start this year!  We began our year with fun projects such as paper Molas, painted Dhurrie Rugs, collage clowns, self-portraits and painted pumpkins.

We were fortunate to have a group of K-5 students' artwork represent our school in October at the Waxhaw branch of the State Employee Credit Union.

Kindergarten through fifth grade students also participated in our school's PTO fundraiser, Art by Me. Thank you parents and grandparents for supporting your child's art and our school! Many thanks to PTO for helping make the fundraiser a success!

Lastly, on Thursday afternoons, a group of 16, third through fifth graders, gather to make art projects after school with Mrs. Dobbins and Mrs. Turner. We have so much fun!

Mrs. Turner could not be more delighted to be at Western Union Elementary and she is overwhelmed by the students' artistic talent! If you are ever by Western Union, stop in and view the beautiful art displayed in our halls!
