Terrific Third Grade Teachers
Hi! I’m Karen Morrison and I am originally from Long Island, New York! I moved to North Carolina 6 years ago after graduating from Dowling College in Elementary Education! In my 6 years of teaching I have taught 3 years of first grade and 3 years of third grade! In my spare time I love to curl up and read a good Nora Roberts book. There is nothing quite like getting lost in a story! I have one dog named Halie Jade. She is my pride and joy and what I consider my daughter! I enjoy traveling and spending time with my big Italian family!
Hi, I’m Gina Vestuti and I was born and raised in Rhode Island. I received my undergraduate at University of RI and my masters at RI College. We moved to Charlotte in 1995. I have been teaching since 1994 in elementary school and at SPCC. I am married with 2 children. I love to cook and spend time with family and friends..
Hi I'm Claire Ramsey. I was born in a small town called Farnborough in England many moons ago. It's about 30 minutes southwest of London and is famous for its International Airshow. I started teaching in 2003 and taught in Coventry and Nottingham. In 2006 I decided I needed a new challenge so I upped sticks and moved to the USA seeking adventure. It was obviously the right move, because I am now married to a wonderful man and the mother of two children, 3 year old Fiona a budding gymnast and 20 month old Matthew, whose aim in life seems to be to eat me out of house and home. I love watching and playing sport despite being very injury prone. I'm hoping for a Patriots Super bowl win after the Braves let me down for the World Series. I love travelling around the USA and on November 21st I became a US citizen.
Hi, I’m Sara Lawrence. I was born in a small town in upstate New York called Endicott. I attended The State University of New York at Oneonta for my under graduate degree in Elementary Education. I also attended Walden University for my master’s degree in Reading and Literacy. I have taught third grade for six years and love it! My fiancé’s name is Adam and we are planning an April wedding! In my free time I enjoy being with my family and friends, staying fit, and running!
Hi! My name is Cheryl Konopka. I am originally from Buffalo, NY and moved here with my husband, Jeff, and our 2 children, Justin and Jessica, in 1999. I received a BS in Management from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY, in 1988 and a MAT in Teaching from Wingate University in 2010. I have been teaching for 6 years and have taught Kindergarten, First Grade and Third Grade. Reading is my favorite subject to teach because I love when a child learns that you have to not only read words on a page but understand what those words mean before becoming a reader! In my spare time, I enjoy cutting coupons and of course, reading! My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary in June and I dream of an Alaskan cruise as our celebration!
I’m Erin Watson and I was born in the small town of Tiffin, Ohio. Oddly enough Tiffin has two colleges-Tiffin University and Heidelberg College. I attended and received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood from Heidelberg College. About 5 years ago, I received my Master’s Degree from Pfeiffer University located in Charlotte. I have been teaching for 12 years and all in 3rd grade! This is my 2nd year at Rocky River Elementary, previously I taught in CMS for 10 years. My husband, Dan and I have a spunky three year old named, Lyla. She is growing way too fast and has begun to display a sassy personality…can’t say I don’t know where that comes from?! J If I could do one thing all day it would be laying at the beach! The sound of the waves….so calming….can’t wait to get there soon! I am totally not a fan of cold weather and count the days till summer!! You can find me outdoors in my garden, out running around doing meaningless errands, or enjoying the outdoors in some way! Staying inside drives me CRAZY…unless I’m watching my housewives. Nothing better than some good reality TV!!
