MHS Broadcasting Program
Monroe High School has a new Broadcasting Program for the 2013-2014 school year. Students are learning broadcasting fundamentals such as basic camera techniques, lighting techniques and how microphones are used in broadcasting production.
Perhaps the most exciting part of the new program is that students work daily out of the most technologically advanced and robust broadcasting studio in Union County Public Schools. The UTV Studio boasts a highly advanced green screen technology where physical sets are obsolete, high definition professional cameras and equipment that is typically reserved for professional production studios.
While other Union County High Schools have video production programs, Monroe High has the unique opportunity to house this amazing studio and offer this hands on experience to select students who qualify for the program.
The students are currently producing daily announcements out of the studio, but bigger plans are in the works. To view samples of our student work, visit the Monroe High School Channel on www.schooltube.com.
The new Broadcasting Program is being taught by Ms. Jennifer Huntley. Ms. Huntley comes to MHS from Anson County and is off to a great start building an exciting new program for students at our school.
