Rufus from The Charlotte Bobcats visits BHESA

Third grade student is pictured with the Charlotte Bobcats and their mascot "Rufus".

Our students at Benton Heights Elementary School of the Arts hosted the Charlotte Bobcats on November 18th. “Rufus” their mascot performed two shows that showcased his own love of reading and encouraged all students and staff to Read to Succeed in life.

The show and their literacy bus came to the school campus for a visit. The Bobcats gave 30 books to selected students who were allowed to get on the bus and select from hundreds of books on board. The show was filled with lots of energy, music, tricks and of course the famous moves of Rufus himself.

BHESA would like to thank the Charlotte Bobcats Organization and Lowe’s for bringing this great program to our young readers. A special thanks to Frank Casstevens – Arts Coordinator for organizing this visit.
