We "CAN" Make A Difference
Rocky River is holding our Annual Food Drive November 25th through December 13th. We are asking our students to donate non-perishable food items such as canned fruits and vegetables, canned tomato sauce, boxed pasta, macaroni and cheese, rice, and/or snack food items. The food items will be given to families in our community who are in need during these extended breaks from school.
Roky River safety patrol has helped to decorate and place boxes at the end of each hallway as well as in front of the gym where food can be collected. Students are asked to place their donations in any of these boxes. Safety patrol will bring the donations to Mrs. Wainwright, our school counselor, where they will be organized for pick up by the Kiwanas of Monroe. They will then be delivered to the Union County Christmas bureau Here all families of Union county will have acess to it.
It is important for students to help others in need. Volunteering and donating brings our school community together to work toward a common goal and promotes personal growth and self esteem. It also encourages civic responsibility and gives our students the opportunity to make a difference in our community.
Please consider donating to this worthy cause. If you should have any questions or would like to get involved, please contact Mrs. Wainwright at (704) 290-1523.
