Parkwood's football team heads to the Western Regional finals

The Parkwood Rebels Varsity Football Team continues to make history with its victory over Hunter Huss High School with a score of 24 to 14 Friday, November 29th. Parkwood jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter and at halftime had a lead of 21-7.

Offensively, they were led by three passing touchdowns carried out by senior quarterback Grey Wyrick. The game had a total of 227 passes and 125 yards rushed. Offense assistant coach Matt Riggins commented on the team's success, "If you get enough people working hard to do things the right way, good things happen."

Senior wide receiver Graham Thompson also commented, "Having a strong crowd and student section following us to the game and being there to support us gives us the motivation we need to play to our best potential!  It's a great feeling knowing we have our community (otherwise known as the Rebel Nation) supporting us."

This Friday, the Rebels will travel to Monroe High School to take on the Redhawks at 7:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to the 2AA State Championship.
