Spelling Bee 2013

Western Union Elementary held our annual school Spelling Bee on Tuesday, December 3.  Twenty students from third through fifth grade participated in this year’s Spelling Bee.  Congratulations to all twenty of these students who received first and second place in their classroom Spelling Bees in order to advance to the school bee.

After ten rounds in the school Spelling Bee, we named our school’s spelling champion: Hailey Deese from Mrs. Dyroff’s fourth grade class!  Congratulations to Hailey and also to our school’s runner-up, Peyton McDonald from Mrs. Bennett’s fifth grade class!

A special thank you to the judges and especially to Mrs. Bostwick, AIG teacher, who did a great job as our pronouncer.

The UCPS Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.  Good luck to Hailey as she moves on to represent Western Union Elementary in the county Spelling Bee!
