Korn Named Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction

Mr. Korn receives an Educator of Distinction award from Claes Nobel.

Porter Ridge High School Social Studies Department Chair Daniel Korn was recently selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), an international organization that celebrates educators who demonstrate outstanding leadership, scholarship and commitment to community. A role model to pupils, Mr. Korn was nominated by senior Megan Cooper for outstanding dedication and commitment to excellent in the classroom.

Student members of NSHSS have the opportunity to nominate the educator who made the most significant contribution to their academic career. The Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction award recognizes role models who have made a lasting difference in their classroom by encouraging students to strive for excellence.

Mr. Korn was honored at the Carter Center in Atlanta on Saturday, December 7th. The award was presented by Claes Nobel, senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes.
