KES wins "International School" recognition for the fourth consecutive year!!

Dr. Mary Ellis, Superintendent of Union County Public Schools, presents Dr. Rachel Clarke, Principal of Kensington Elementary, with an "International School" plaque.

As part of the "Globalization-Innovation-Graduation" mantra of Union County Public Schools, each of the schools in our system strive to incorporate global education into daily instruction. These efforts are recognized through the UCPS Global Schools rubric, which provides a model for growth but also incorporates several levels of recognition. Kensington Elementary was awarded the highest designation, "UCPS International School", for the fourth year in a row!

Items in Kensington's portfolio included the documentation of global lessons, the International Cluster fair, participation in service projects and recycling initiatives, and the number of guest speakers related to global themes.

Kensington is one of only three schools in the county to be recognized as a "UCPS International School" for all four years of this initiative! Congratulations to the Kensington community!!
