Happy New Year!
Multiage and First Grade classrooms have been studying other cultures for some time now. Recently they traveled around the world and learned all about customs and traditions. They learned all about different things people eat, languages they speak and even tooth fairy customs.
Upon returning from break all the students had the opportunity to study various ways New Years is celebrated around the world. We were very lucky to have a parent join us to share the new year traditions and customs about Diwali.
Diwali is the celebration of lights, how good wins over bad and lasts for 5 days. She even brought in clothes to show us and traditional decorations that are used. We are so grateful to Roshni Patel for sharing her thoughts and experiences.
