World in Your Backyard - Mexico
On December 19th, students at Fairview Elementary were treated to an in-school field trip to Mexico. Our younger students learned about Mexico and its rich culture through photos, artifacts, dressing up and dancing to the Mexican Hat Dance. Our older students learned about the Aztecs and the Spanish Conquest, as well as modern Mexico.
The World in Our Backyard programs have been created by teachers, for teachers, in order to provide the following:
* A learning environment that has unique and interactive exhibits.
* A curriculum that equips you with the knowledge and understanding of different cultures.
* A personal experience that forever changes your perspective of the world.
All in-school field trips were developed to support the Common Core goals and objectives and to engage students in a creative and energetic way through the use of photographs, artifacts, cultural costumes and traditional music.
