First graders learning about North Carolina animals!
Animals are an exciting topic that always interest children! One of the main reasons why children are so interested in learning about animals is because they are different and they can be fun to study! There are so many animals in the world and they all have different ways of surviving and living.
Weddington Elementary first graders are studying “Animals of North Carolina”! Their two week unit on animals focuses on animals’ habitat, eating habits and reproduction! They are exploring the different habitats, identifying the basic needs of animals and how animals survive or adapt to their environment.
Each student researched their given animal to collect facts and information. They used resources for their animal quest by going to the media center and computer lab to watch videos, writing down facts and drawing pictures of their animals.
