Third Grade Astronomy Night!

Third Grade Astronomy Night

Is the sun the biggest and brightest star? Why do shadows look different at various times throughout the day? What is rotation and revolution?

The third grade students have discovered answers to these challenging questions as they delved into a unit of study on the day and night sky. To celebrate the ending of an "out of this world" unit, the Charlotte Amateur Astronomers Club will be visiting Fairview Elementary on Thursday night, January 23rd (weather permitting).

The members will be bringing their telescopes to help the students locate faraway planets, stars, and constellations. The third graders and teachers are excited for this new hands-on learning experience, and they hope the weather will cooperate!
