Swimming Jackets Finish Strong in RRC Meet

Forest Hills Swim Team turned in a great performance at the Rocky River Conference Meet on Fri., Jan. 17.

Forest Hills' swimming team ends its season with remarkable results at the Rocky River Conference Meet held Friday, Jan. 17 at Pfeiffer University. The men's team finished 3rd overall, the ladies 4th.

Freshman Drew Tucker won the 50 free (23.51) and the 500 free (5:30). Tucker led both men's relays helping to secure 3rd place finishes in the 200 medley relay (2:07.46) with junior Landon Allen, senior Conner Farmer, and junior Angello Benegas, and the 400 free (4:21.97) with sophomore Mike Foley, junior Landon Allen, and senior Conner Farmer. Farmer also earned 3rd in the 100 breast (1:20.05).

Team Captain, senior Nikki Witt, won the 200 free (2:32.59). Witt joined teammates, senior Evie Jarvis, freshman Katie Druding, and junior Cynthia Sierra, to take 2nd in the 400 free relay with a 5:11.62 and 4th in the 200 free relay(2:09.88). Druding earned her first top finish taking 3rd in the 100 breast (1:36.73).

A record number of FHHS swimmers were named Rocky River All Conference: Nikki Witt, Evie Jarvis, Cynthia Sierra and Katie Druding from the women’s team and Conner Farmer and Drew Tucker from the men’s team. Tucker, with six regional automatic times, hopes to be joined by teammates with regional consideration times in the 1-A/2-A Western Regional Swim Meet on Feb. 1 at the Huntersville Aquatic Center.
