Archived Stories for Union County Public Schools
Marshville third graders have become accomplished poets. They have been reading established poetry and writing original poetry. They have been very excited to learn about the elements and styles of poetry. Writing poetry can help students to develop good communication and descriptive skills. The students compiled all different types of poetry about the Panthers including haikus, concrete shape poems, anagrams and limericks.
To showcase their skills, the students participated in our version of “Panthermania”. They wrote different styles of poetry to encourage the Panthers during the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Panthers came up short but their poetry did not!
