PTSO Open House to be held on Monday, February 3 at 6:30

 Good Evening Mavericks, this is Assistant Principal Matt Lasher with your weekly announcements.

We would like to give a big Maverick welcome to the students and teacher from Nanjing, China (pictured above). They arrived this past Friday and will be with us until February 12..

PTSO will hold an Open House this Monday, February 3rd at 6:30. This will be an opportunity for parents to walk their students schedule, meet their teachers, and learn about each teacher’s curriculum and expectations. The evening will begin with a brief meeting in the MRHS auditorium. Please bring your student’s schedule. We will also hold our annual AP Fair this Monday beginning at 5:45 in the school cafeteria. With registration for next year coming soon, this is an opportunity for all current 9th,10th, and 11th grade parents and students to meet with AP teachers and learn about college level course offerings at our school.

On Tuesday February 4th the UCPS Board of Education will meet at 6PM at MRHS.
The application process for Union County Public School’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at Marvin Ridge High School begins February 1, 2014. This program is open to all rising juniors in Union County who meet the criteria for acceptance. Applications are available in the guidance office or online.

This week in athletics basketball will have a make-up game vs. Anson on Thursday. This Friday will be senior night for basketball and cheerleading vs. Cuthbertson. We wish the best of luck to our swim and Indoor Track teams as they compete at their state meets this Friday and Saturday.

Report Cards were issued to students on Friday. All classes with an NC common exam will be marked incomplete for 3rd six weeks, exam, and final grades. When these scores become available, new report cards will be printed and sent home. Copies of the 2012-2013 North Carolina School Report Card for MRHS were also sent home with students on Friday. The information was released this week and is also available through a link on our website.
