Mrs. Haney's class shows off their bulletin board of State quilts
Third graders have been busy studying the regions of the United States as part of their Geography objectives in Social Studies this month.
Students learned how the country is divided into different regions and that each region has its own special features, resources, and history. Students used maps to locate the different regions and find the states which are included in that section of the country.
States were researched using classroom computers which have been integrated into third grade classrooms this year. The information gathered was shared by creating a quilt square to represent each state. Classes have displayed these state quilts in the hallway for other students at Sandy Ridge to view and enjoy.
